NIGHT WINDOWS
2017 · 3 min 17 sec
An experiment in 3D animation and visual style, inspired by several months of daily train journeys to the BBC. Looking out across the urban sprawl of London, I became fascinated by the aesthetics of urban architecture and railway tracks, the backs of houses and the passing glimpses into other people’s lives.
Taking its title from Edward Hopper’s painting Night Windows, the film recreates this journey through a heavily stylised, imagined landscape, exploring the strange beauty of these overlooked spaces and the lives that might exist within them.
